NFC Forum Certification Now Available in Germany

IB-Lenhardt and COMPRION partner to deliver faster, standards-compliant NFC certification – with a clear focus on the automotive sector
St. Ingbert and Paderborn, Germany – July 25, 2025 – IB-Lenhardt AG and COMPRION GmbH have joined forces to provide NFC Forum-accredited certification testing directly in Germany, offering a significant boost for automotive manufacturers, suppliers, and chipset vendors working with NFC technologies.
A key driver of demand is the smartphone-based digital car key, which depends on seamless interoperability between all NFC components. NFC Forum certification forms the foundation for this reliability, enabling secure and standardized integration across global devices and systems.
The partnership combines IB-Lenhardt’s expertise in international wireless certification (CE, FCC, MIC, ISED) and its advanced testing infrastructure with COMPRION’s industry-leading test solutions. COMPRION’s validated platform – including the UT³ test system, high-precision NFC antennas, a 6-axis industrial robot, and full analog and digital conformance test suites – ensures rigorous and reliable testing from development through to certification.
For automotive players, the benefits are clear:
Accelerated time-to-market for NFC-enabled products
Immediate technical support from both partners
Certification and pre-testing using the same validated systems
Early-stage evaluation of antenna designs using COMPRION’s pre-conformance tools and Design Validation Center
“There’s ongoing debate about whether NFC Forum certification is truly necessary in automotive,” says Andreas Bertling, Managing Director at COMPRION GmbH. “From our experience, it’s essential. Interoperability only works when everyone adheres to shared standards – just like it does for billions of smartphones worldwide.”
Beyond certification, COMPRION also offers training and technical support on NFC specifications – making it easier for OEMs and suppliers in Germany and beyond to navigate this technically demanding field.
“There’s strong demand across the automotive industry for NFC solutions that are both secure and interoperable,” adds Andreas Bender, Deputy Managing Director of the IBL-Lab. “Together, we now offer everything from early pre-qualification to official certification – all under one roof.”
This partnership strengthens the global NFC ecosystem and delivers a complete, localized solution for automotive companies looking to certify, optimize, and accelerate their NFC-enabled innovations.
