Kathrein unveils WiRa 25°/35° MLFF Wide Range Antenna at Intertraffic
Intertraffic: March 10–13, 2026, Amsterdam, Netherlands
Kathrein Solutions will present its new UHF RFID Wide Range Antenna WiRa 25°/35° PRO for multi-lane free flow (MLFF) applications at Intertraffic 2026, the leading trade fair for intelligent traffic solutions, taking place March 10–13, 2026 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Visitors can meet Kathrein Solutions on the joint booth with long-term partner Tönnjes and discuss RFID technologies for automated vehicle identification and broader ITS use cases.
Built for high-speed, lane-selective vehicle detection
As tolling and traffic systems increasingly move toward barrier-free MLFF operation, accurate, lane-specific identification at speed becomes essential. Kathrein Solutions positions the WiRa 25°/35° PRO as a practical solution for this environment, combining very high antenna gain with a beam geometry optimized for selective detection.
With 25° horizontal and 35° vertical beamwidth, the antenna supports selective detection of a single vehicle in a lane, enabling reliable reading even at very high speeds in multi-lane scenarios. It is designed to optimize reading of vehicle transponders commonly used in ITS, including windshield and headlight tags.
Easier synchronization with LNPR data
In many ITS deployments, RFID identification is paired with camera-based recognition. Kathrein highlights that the WiRa 25°/35° PRO supports precise positioning, enabling easier synchronization of raw RFID reads with data from LNPR cameras to strengthen correlation and operational confidence.
