AIM presents a live scenario for the digital supply chain at LogiMAT 2026
Tracking & Tracing Theater demonstrates interoperable AutoID technologies for Logistics 4.0 and Industry 4.0
At LogiMAT (March 24–26, 2026, Stuttgart), the industry association AIM-D e.V. will once again present its AIM Tracking & Tracing Theater (T&TT) – a practical live scenario for the digitalization of the entire supply chain. In Hall 2, Booth B07, trade visitors will experience a continuous process chain from procurement to production to distribution three times a day – at the object and data level.
The focus will be on interoperable AutoID technologies as enabling technologies for Logistics 4.0, Industry 4.0, and the (I)IoT. The theater will demonstrate how physical objects are identified, located, and digitally mapped using RFID, barcodes, RTLS, UWB, and BLE beacons – including cloud connectivity, SAP integration, and digital twin concepts.
Three segments, one integrated value chain
The Tracking & Tracing Theater exemplifies three central areas of value creation:
1. Procurement logistics
Incoming goods such as raw materials, intermediate products, or tools are labeled (eco labeling), identified, and correctly picked. Mobile data capture, barcode scanning, and the location of scanning processes show how transparency is created right at the beginning of the supply chain.
2. Production logistics
The focus is on intralogistics and production integration:
Assembly station with scan gate
Conveyor lines with integrated processing stations
UHF RFID-based production processes
Vision and RFID-supported quality assurance
Objects are automatically verified, processed with quality assurance, and their data is transferred to higher-level systems. The seamless linking of identification and process data creates the basis for efficient, resilient production processes.
3. Distribution logistics
Produced goods are located in real time using BLE and UWB-based real-time location systems (RTLS), prepared for shipment, and labeled with shipping labels. Finally, the SAP integration of all recorded identification, location, and environmental data is demonstrated—including data analytics for process optimization, predictive maintenance, and life cycle management.
Standardization as the key to interoperability
A central theme of T&TT is standardization. Only through standardized interfaces and technologies can heterogeneous systems work together interoperably – from labeling and real-time location to cloud integration.
Together with partners such as All for One Group, Balluff, Cancom, Datalogic, Leuze, Logopak, and Omlox (Flowcate & SynchronicIT), AIM shows how cross-vendor solutions work in practice.
Expert forum on digital transformation
On March 25, 2026, AIM and its media partner ident will host an expert forum in the LogiMAT Arena (ICS): "AIDC solutions for optimizing and digitizing logistics processes."
Here, experts will discuss the role of AutoID as the basis for digital transformation – from cloud connectivity and cybersecurity to AI integration. The goal is secure, resilient supply chains and end-to-end real-time transparency across company boundaries.
Experience it live in Hall 2
Live demonstrations at the Tracking & Tracing Theater will take place daily at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. in Hall 2 / Booth B07. In-depth discussions are also possible at the AIM joint booth (Hall 2 / B05).
With the Tracking & Tracing Theater, AIM once again underscores its role as the leading industry association for AutoID, automatic data capture, and mobile IT systems in German-speaking countries—and as a driving force for the digital, networked, and increasingly autonomous supply chain.
