BTRY: Manufacturer of the World’s Thinnest Battery

BTRY AG was founded in 2023 as a spin-off from ETH Zurich and Empa. The company develops a thin-film solid-state battery designed for high-performance IoT applications.

BTRY specializes in ultra-thin lithium-ion solid-state batteries that are slim enough to integrate seamlessly into smart labels, cards, sensors, and other compact devices where conventional batteries are too large or too rigid. These rechargeable cells combine high energy density, fast charging, and a high level of safety, making them ideal for demanding use cases.

With its proprietary thin-film technology and a manufacturing approach inspired by semiconductor production, BTRY enables reliable power supply in extremely small form factors. Typical applications include smart logistics and shipping labels, industrial and IoT sensors, smart cards and digital IDs, MedTech devices, and connected consumer products.
