Detailed product information
Balluff Engineering Tool (BET) is the free engineering software for the entire life cycle of IO-Link networks – from initial planning to service. With BET, you can quickly create IO-Link topologies across manufacturers and securely configure devices centrally, test the installation, and document the delivery status completely.
The software is intuitive to use and enables the setup and operation of IO-Link networks without any programming effort – ideal for machine and plant manufacturers, integrators, and operators.
A key added value: BET combines offline engineering and commissioning in a continuous process. You can plan topologies at your desk, set parameters in advance, and transfer a fully prepared configuration to the system later. In practice, this reduces commissioning time, minimizes connection errors, and increases process quality from day one.
Functions such as automatic network scans, central parameterization, port/pin diagnostics, firmware updates, login synchronization, and backup/restore make maintenance and device replacement predictable, fast, and secure. In addition, applications and parameter states can be archived—including device lists as a contribution to documentation and (optionally) as a building block for an SBOM of your plant.
Highlights / Functions
Planning & engineering: Plan offline topologies, continue configuration after hardware planning, manage/create user-defined device descriptions
Commissioning & operation: Scan network, find devices and configure them centrally, configure IO-Link devices via USB master, update firmware versions
Maintenance & Diagnostics: Check connection, module states, device status, and port/pin states
Quality & Service: Compare cabling vs. planning for early fault detection, create backups, restore in case of service, document delivery status
