TURCK Launches New Air Flow Sensors with IO-Link for Digital Ventilation Monitoring
Mülheim, November 13, 2025 – TURCK expands its sensor portfolio with the launch of the FCS-K20 and FCS-M18 air flow sensors, bringing IO-Link connectivity to industrial ventilation and exhaust air systems. Designed for precise and digitalized airflow and temperature monitoring, the new models simplify commissioning, enhance diagnostic depth, and support remote parameterization — even in hard-to-access installation environments.
Digital Air Flow Monitoring for Modern Automation
Unlike traditional sensors with analog outputs, the new FCS models use IO-Link to provide extended process transparency and easy configuration. The interface enables users to read not only flow values but also temperature data, diagnostic information, and device status in real time. This is particularly valuable for predictive maintenance and IIoT-based monitoring architectures.
The absence of mechanical adjustment elements eliminates the risk of leakage during setup, while allowing parameter changes to be made remotely at any time — a major advantage for ventilation ducts or exhaust lines with restricted access.
Smart Sensor Profile Support and Diagnostic Functions
The air flow sensors comply with the Smart Sensor Profile standard, ensuring consistent and structured data across different IO-Link devices. In addition to switching signals for air flow and temperature, they deliver operating data that can be integrated into IIoT platforms or PLC-based maintenance dashboards.
A six-color LED indicator on the device visualizes sensor status locally, enabling quick on-site diagnostics without additional tools.
Flexible Installation Options for a Wide Range of Use Cases
TURCK offers the air flow sensors in two mounting variants:
FCS-K20 for plug-in mounting
FCS-M18 for screw-in mounting
Both versions are available either with a 2 m cable or a 0.2 m pigtail featuring an M12 connector, giving machine builders and system integrators flexibility in installation and wiring.
The sensors are engineered for applications such as:
Monitoring air flows in ventilation and exhaust ducts
Supervising industrial fans
Detecting filter conditions
Controlling underground parking and tunnel ventilation systems
Digital Ventilation Monitoring for Industrial and Infrastructure Applications
With the FCS-K20 and FCS-M18, TURCK delivers compact and robust sensing solutions that support the ongoing shift toward connected, data-driven maintenance strategies. Their IO-Link capability, extended diagnostics, and flexible installation make them suitable not only for industrial environments but also for infrastructure systems requiring reliable and continuous air flow supervision.
