Together with a globally operating German sports car manufacturer, iDTRONIC developed a compact solution to wirelessly transmit CAN-Bus data to smartphones using NFC – without complex wiring or external diagnostic tools. The goal was to significantly increase efficiency during prototype testing.

The technical foundation is the proven NEO 2 HF/NFC Desktop Reader, which was custom-designed for this use case in terms of both hardware and firmware. The result is a rugged reader with an industrial-grade CAN-Bus connector that interprets, compresses, and transmits raw CAN-Bus data in the NDEF format – readable by any standard NFC-enabled smartphone.
