CrossTalk Transfers from KATHREIN Solutions to IoT Invent
Effective July 1, 2026, IoT Invent will take over the CrossTalk RFID software suite from KATHREIN Solutions. For users, system integrators, and solution partners, the focus will be on continuity in maintenance, security patches, support, and device integration, as well as new licensing options.
Strategic Transition of the CrossTalk Software Suite
KATHREIN Solutions is transferring the CrossTalk RFID software suite to IoT Invent. This move is part of a strategic realignment at KATHREIN Solutions. Going forward, the company intends to focus more strongly on its core expertise in hardware-oriented solutions.
With this transition, CrossTalk returns to the team that originally developed the software. Today’s IoT Invent employees were formerly part of noFilis AutoID and built CrossTalk as software for automatic object identification and data capture.
Software for Automatic Identification and Device Integration
CrossTalk is used as standard software across multiple industries. The suite supports the integration of identification and data capture devices, providing more than 100 services for various application scenarios.
For system integrators and solution partners, it is particularly important that CrossTalk connects existing RFID and AutoID infrastructures via software, can be customized to meet customer requirements, and serves as the foundation for scalable integration projects. As a result, the software remains a building block for applications in which devices, data streams, and business processes must be interconnected.
Continuity for Existing Customers
According to the companies, the transition is taking place in close coordination between KATHREIN Solutions and IoT Invent. Both companies intend to continue working together as partners in the future. This ensures that maintenance and support services will continue to be provided to existing customers.
IoT Invent will promptly provide customers with software maintenance contracts the necessary updates and security patches. This is particularly relevant for operators of productive RFID and AutoID systems, as integration software often plays a central role between readers, data sources, and backend systems.
New Licenses and Solutions Available
In addition to supporting existing installations, new licenses and solutions are now available. This means that CrossTalk remains available not only to existing customers but can also be used in new RFID, AutoID, and tracking projects.
For integrators, the transition establishes a clear point-of-contact structure for software maintenance, expansion, and new implementations. End users benefit above all from the guaranteed continuation of existing systems and the ability to continue integrating CrossTalk into future digitization and tracking architectures.
IoT Invent Expands Software and Tracking Expertise
IoT Invent specializes in smart asset tracking using cellular networks, GNSS, Bluetooth, and RFID. The company addresses applications ranging from global localization to precise positioning and real-time inventory management with AI support.
With the rtls-cloud, IoT Invent offers a solution that enables objects to be precisely positioned locally and located globally. The acquisition of CrossTalk complements this portfolio with an established software suite for automatic object identification, data collection, and device integration.
