IoT Invent: Smart Asset Tracking in Your Supply Chain

IoT Invent develops hardware and software for the end-to-end tracking and control of industrial assets. The focus is on the following questions: Where is each asset located, how does it move through the process, and where do losses in time, inventory, or capital occur?

The RTLS Cloud consolidates position and movement data from various technologies. Global tracking is performed via 4G/LTE and GNSS, while Bluetooth is used for localization within plants, warehouses, and distribution centers. Bluetooth 6.0 Channel Sounding and BLE AoA expand the portfolio to include more precise indoor positioning.

Using the concept of “swarm intelligence,” IoT Invent combines cost-optimized BLE tags with a smaller proportion of LTE-capable trackers. This allows assets to remain visible even across plant boundaries, transport routes, and supplier networks.

The software goes beyond simply displaying locations. AI-powered analyses are designed, for example, to identify oversized asset pools, long downtime, idle load carriers, or losses, and to derive concrete optimization recommendations from these findings.

With CrossTalk, IoT Invent also connects RFID, RTLS, barcodes, GPS, sensors, and other AutoID devices to ERP, SAP, EPCIS, MQTT, OPC UA, and BI systems. As a result, the portfolio ranges from tracking physical assets to integration into operational business processes.

All hardware and software products are developed in-house by IoT Invent GmbH. The company is based in Ismaning near Munich in Germany and draws on more than 25 years of experience with industrial identification and localization solutions.
