Meet BTRY at MWC 2026 – Swiss Solid-State Battery Innovation in Barcelona
BTRY will attend MWC Barcelona / 4YFN 2026, a leading global platform for mobile technology, IoT and emerging innovation. From March 2 to 5, 2026, BTRY will showcase its thin-film solid-state batteries in Hall 8.1 | Stand 8.1D20.3.
BTRY develops an ultra-thin solid-state battery that delivers lithium-ion-level energy density with supercapacitor-like power, suited for sub-1Ah devices. As an ETH Zurich and Empa spin-off, BTRY targets the growing demand for compact, high-performance energy storage in next-generation connected products such as IoT sensors, wearables and industrial devices .
Selected for the Swiss National Startup Team 2026
BTRY was selected for the Venture Leaders Mobile 2026 Swiss National Startup Team, joining nine other high-potential Swiss technology startups. After reviewing more than 115 applications, a jury of investors and mobile experts selected ten startups to participate in 4YFN, the startup platform of Mobile World Congress (MWC) .
The Venture Leaders Mobile 2026 program is organized by Venturelab and supported by Huawei, Swisscom Ventures and VISCHER. The roadshow helps founders expand their investor network and business development opportunities through pitch sessions, expert access and networking with industry leaders in the mobile and digital ecosystem .
The Swiss National Startup Team will be in Barcelona from February 28 to March 5, 2026, strengthening Switzerland’s visibility at 4YFN and MWC .
BTRY is also proud to be represented by its CEO Moritz Futscher, who joins the delegation as Team Captain.
Powering the next generation of connected devices
As connected devices become smaller and more performance-driven, energy storage is a key constraint. BTRY’s thin-film solid-state battery technology combines high energy density and high power capability in an ultra-compact form factor, enabling product designs where traditional batteries reach their limits.
If you would like to dive deeper into practical requirements, the Think WIoT interview with BTRY provides additional background on peak currents in wireless IoT labels and on the role of thin-film solid-state batteries as an energy buffer, for example in energy-harvesting scenarios. Not attending MWC?
