Blecon has introduced Blecon Agent: a software solution that transforms Zebra Technologies frontline devices into an autonomous Bluetooth tracking network.

The goal is to provide logistics and supply chain teams with continuous asset visibility for BLE sensors, smart labels, and beacons— without the need for new hardware infrastructure or expensive cellular trackers for each asset.

The bottleneck was never the tag, it was the network

Many companies are familiar with the pattern: tracking works well where fixed readers are installed. However, visibility gaps arise in between – precisely at the transitions, in handling areas, in the yard, in the cross-dock, or en route in the process. Cellular tracking can close these gaps, but is often difficult to scale economically for large quantities.

Blecon therefore relies on a different lever: the integrated Bluetooth radio modules that are already present in Zebra devices. The Blecon Agent activates these radio modules and turns the devices into mobile collection points that receive and transmit BLE signals during operation. This turns the "connected frontline" into infrastructure – where assets are actually moved.

Passive data collection instead of manual scanning

The Blecon Agent is designed to run in the background and automate data collection. Assets and inventory are recognized as they move through the operation – without employees having to change their workflow or perform additional scans. This reduces friction, speeds up processes, and creates the conditions for true "always-on" visibility.

From reusable assets to single-use shipments

The solution addresses different asset categories: Reusable load carriers such as roll containers can be mapped using smart beacons, while high-volume, one-time shipments can be made visible using cost-effective Bluetooth smart labels. Blecon thus aims not only at high-value tracking, but also at scaling in everyday use.

Scale quickly – with what you already have

A key requirement: rapid implementation without an infrastructure project. Companies can roll out the solution using their existing equipment and thus establish a tracking network within a short period of time – across locations and along real workflows.

In addition, the Blecon Agent is also designed for other device types and operating systems to support heterogeneous device environments in companies.

Live demos and availability

Blecon positions the Blecon Agent as ready for immediate use and offers companies the opportunity to start a pilot project in the near future.

About Blecon

Blecon transforms the existing frontline into an autonomous tracking network. The company combines Bluetooth Smart Labels and Smart Beacons with a software-based Frontline Agent to close supply chain "blind spots" and enable scalable asset visibility and condition monitoring with minimal friction.
