SIVA IoT has introduced ClearShell™, a slim UHF RFID asset tag that protects a printable on-metal label inside a transparent hard-shell housing. It gives organisations a durable, IP68-rated alternative where standard labels wear out too quickly and conventional hard tags are unnecessarily bulky.
Closing the Gap Between RFID Labels and Hard Tags
Many asset-tracking projects face the same trade-off. Standard on-metal RFID labels are lightweight, easy to apply and cost-effective, but can become damaged by repeated handling, abrasion, washing or cleaning processes.

A Slim RFID Tag With Added Physical Protection
ClearShell™ encapsulates an MoM 6024 series on-metal RFID label in a transparent polycarbonate housing. This protects the RFID label underneath while keeping printed serial numbers, asset IDs and other variable information visible.
At just 74 × 39 × 2.5 mm and 5 g, ClearShell™ remains low-profile and lightweight. It is designed for applications where available installation space is limited but long-term label protection is essential.
Built for Industrial, Logistics and Healthcare Environments
The tag features IP68-rated protection and is resistant to salt water, motor oil, diluted sulfuric acid and diluted sodium hydroxide. Its housing also helps protect the printed label from scuffs, abrasion, washing and disinfection wipe cleaning.
A high-performance adhesive backing supports secure application to metal as well as other clean, smooth surfaces. Although optimised for metal, ClearShell™ can also be used on non-metallic assets.
RAIN RFID Performance for Mixed Asset Fleets
ClearShell™ uses the NXP UCODE 9X IC and supports ISO 18000-6C and EPC Gen2v2 RAIN RFID communication. Under stated laboratory conditions, typical read ranges reach up to 7 m in ETSI regions and up to 11 m in FCC regions.
This makes the tag suitable for tracking assets across offices, industrial facilities, logistics operations and healthcare environments. Its slim format helps organisations standardise RFID identification without adding a large hard tag to every item.
