A slim hard-shell protected version of the MoM 6024 on-metal RFID label
Standard on-metal RFID labels are not always robust enough for more demanding environments. At the same time, conventional rugged hard tags can be too bulky, heavy and costly where a low-profile identification solution is required.
ClearShell™ bridges this gap. It is a finished RFID product that encapsulates a MoM 6024 series on-metal label in a slim, transparent hard-shell case. This gives users the printability and straightforward application of a label, combined with the additional physical protection and durability of a rigid enclosure.
The transparent polycarbonate housing keeps variable printed information visible while protecting the RFID label inside. ClearShell™ is supplied with a high-performance adhesive backing and can be applied to metal as well as other smooth, clean surfaces.
Optimised for metal, the tag also works on non-metallic surfaces. It uses the NXP UCODE 9X IC and supports ISO 18000-6C and EPC Gen2v2 RAIN RFID communication. Typical read ranges reach up to 7 m in ETSI regions and up to 11 m in FCC regions under stated laboratory conditions.
At just 74 × 39 × 2.5 mm and 5 g, ClearShell™ offers a slim alternative to many traditional on-metal hard tags. Its IP68-rated construction and resistance to salt water, motor oil, diluted sulfuric acid and diluted sodium hydroxide make it suitable for durable asset identification in industrial, logistics, healthcare and maintenance applications.
ClearShell™ is typically supplied as an individually checked product with optional customer-specific EPC encoding and black variable-data printing. Custom artwork, including colour printing and encoding, is also available for higher-volume orders.
