New UHF RFID on-metal label combines extended read range, IP68 protection and on-demand printing for industrial asset identification.

SIVA IoT has introduced the MoM 8035 Xtreme, a high-performance UHF RFID on-metal label designed for reliable asset identification over extended distances. With a claimed read range of up to 18 metres (59 feet), depending on the regional version and operating conditions, the label targets demanding applications in manufacturing, logistics, IT infrastructure and industrial maintenance.

Metal surfaces present particular challenges for RFID identification because they can interfere with radio-frequency signals. The MoM 8035 Xtreme is specifically engineered for metal assets while also supporting applications on plastic and liquid-filled containers. This flexibility allows companies to standardise RFID identification across different asset types and operating environments.

Long-Range Performance in a Slim RFID Label

Measuring just 80 × 35 × 2 mm, the MoM 8035 Xtreme combines a compact, printable format with extended reading distances. According to SIVA IoT's ETSI datasheet, the label achieves up to 18 metres on metal and 11 metres on plastic under laboratory conditions at 2 W ERP.

Powered by the NXP UCODE X chip, the label supports EPC Gen2v2 and configurable EPC memory from 96 to 208 bits, alongside up to 32 bits of user memory.

Its flexible construction also allows application to curved metal surfaces, with a minimum recommended bending diameter of 100 mm.

Built for Industrial Environments

The MoM 8035 Xtreme carries an IP68 rating, including testing for five hours at a water depth of one metre. SIVA IoT also reports resistance to prolonged exposure to salt water, motor oil and selected industrial chemicals.

With an operating temperature range of −35°C to +85°C, the label is suitable for a wide range of industrial environments.

Another practical advantage is its compatibility with industrial RFID printers, including the Zebra ZT411 On-Metal, SATO CL4NX and Printronix T6000e series. Companies can print and encode labels on-site, while customised printing and pre-encoding are available for larger deployments.

Applications Across Industry and Logistics

The MoM 8035 Xtreme addresses applications where metal assets must be identified reliably without direct line of sight:

  • IT and data centres: Servers, network equipment and metal cabinets

  • Manufacturing: Machinery, tools and production equipment

  • Warehousing: Metal shelving, storage racks and pallet locations

  • Logistics: Roll cages, returnable transport items and metal containers

  • Maintenance: Equipment identification and asset-related inspection records

  • Industrial infrastructure: Pipes, tanks and vessels with curved surfaces

Availability and Product Information

The MoM 8035 Xtreme is offered in ETSI and FCC versions for different regional frequency requirements. Labels are supplied in reels of 250 units, with each label performance-checked before shipment.
