Efficient and safe packaging without compromising productivity: This is only possible with high-performance sensor technology and intelligent automation.

Leuze will showcase the solutions available to the processing and packaging industry at this year’s interpack in Düsseldorf. From May 7 to 13, 2026, the Sensor People will demonstrate how manufacturers and operators can make their machines and production lines future-proof (Hall 13, Booth D73).

Innovative Solutions for the Packaging Industry

The focus of the Leuze booth is on innovative solution concepts that enable efficient and safe automation using a variety of sensor technologies.

Visitors will learn how transfer stations can be seamlessly secured even when the width or position of the goods on the pallet or the position of the pallet on the conveyor varies. This is achieved through a Safety Solution with dynamic format adaptation.

This solution is also equipped with a 3D volume measurement system that enables the automated measurement of packages, containers, and material flows, thereby offering significant added value for warehouse logistics and distribution centers.

For example, optical sensors from Leuze's 53C and 55C stainless steel series are used.

In Düsseldorf, Leuze experts are also presenting a safety solution for access control in forklift logistics: At transfer stations, it reliably distinguishes between people and forklifts. Operators benefit from maximum safety during ongoing plant operation, even at high capacity.

Robust and hygienic in a mini format

High-performance and robust sensor technology rounds out the trade show presentation, including stainless steel series in miniature housings: The sensors in wash-down or hygienic designs are ideally suited for detection tasks in hygiene-sensitive production and packaging processes in the food and pharmaceutical sectors.

In addition, the updated GMP pharmaceutical guideline (Annex 1) imposes stricter requirements on sensor technology for the packaging of sterile pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Leuze demonstrates how these new requirements of the guideline can be met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations.

With their solutions, the Sensor People offer practical answers to current challenges—from flexible, secure access control to hygienic detection. This ensures that automated processes remain efficient and future-proof. Visitors to interpack can receive personalized consultation for their applications at the Leuze booth.
