Customized RFID labeling for industry, logistics, and medical technology

RFID becomes truly valuable when it not only identifies, but also makes processes reliable. GERA IDENT has been developing and producing RFID smart labels, tickets, and tags for many years, which are individually designed for each application and customer.

The requirement is clear: the labeling must also work where standard products fail – in demanding process environments, on difficult surfaces, or at extreme temperatures. That is why GERA IDENT relies on robust, high-quality, and resistant materials for all components.

When labeling becomes process automation

With RFID solutions from GERA IDENT, objects become "smart" – and thus active data points in the process. In many applications, labels and tags contribute directly to process automation, for example in industrial production control.

Whether window frames, bumpers, or car bodies: when RFID supports control and traceability in manufacturing, quality is not a detail, but a prerequisite. GERA IDENT reflects this claim in comprehensive, customizable quality assurance.

Technology that fits the application

Every RFID application is only as good as its adaptation to the real environment. GERA IDENT therefore designs smart labels, tickets, and tags based on the most important levers:

  • Frequencies and combinations: HF/NFC, UHF (RAIN), and dual frequency

  • Chip variants and antenna designs to suit the desired performance

  • Optimization for substrates such as plastic, wood, metal, ESD, and more

  • Adaptation to the intended use, such as environmental conditions, process environment, and RF performance

  • Customization through printing and programming

This results in RFID products that function reliably not only in the laboratory but also in the field.

Three product families for different requirements

RFID labels are self-adhesive labels with an integrated RFID inlay consisting of a chip and antenna. GERA IDENT uses its expertise in antenna design, material selection, and RF design to design labels that remain stably readable on the respective substrate and in the process environment—a decisive factor for reliable production and supply chain processes.

RFID tags are pendants or insert tags without an adhesive surface. They are always used when objects cannot or may not be labeled with adhesive labels or when a robust, reusable identifier is required. This is where GERA IDENT draws on its experience in coordinating tags mechanically and in terms of radio frequency so that they function reliably even in circulation processes with changing requirements.

RFID tickets combine a handy ticket format with an integrated RFID inlay. This makes them suitable for applications where identification needs to be flexible, such as access, allocation, or automatic time measurement in sports. GERA IDENT designs tickets in terms of material, chip selection, and antenna geometry to suit the intended use and desired reading distance.

Typical areas of application

GERA IDENT's RFID smart labels, tickets, and tags are used in window production and production control, in the automotive and supplier industry, and in medical technology and pharmaceuticals, among other areas.

Other areas of application include supply chain and logistics, container management and C-parts management, asset management, and sports timekeeping—anywhere where RF performance, material robustness, and process reliability must be considered together.
