UHF RFID Antennas for IoT Applications

With the EDGE Line antennas, a new antenna family has been added to the KATHREIN Solutions standard portfolio that revolutionises the use of UHF RFID antennas for IoT applications.

The EDGE Line antennas from Kathrein impress with their outstanding parameters and reduced dimensions. The very slim design with a thickness of just 6 mm is ideal for space-saving and efficient integration in the areas of material flow and logistics. This is achieved by completely dispensing with a housing.

Nevertheless, protection against moisture and environmental influences is guaranteed. The antennas are protected to IP 54 and can be used outdoors where splash water is to be expected. Kathrein is also aware of its responsibility for the environment and has opted for a recyclable design for these EDGE antennas.

All antennas in the EDGE Line family fulfil the following characteristics:

  • Slim RAIN RFID antenna with 6mm thickness

  • No additional housing

  • Suitable for outdoor use

  • IP54 protection class

  • TNC antenna socket on the back of the antenna

  • 2 wide range antenna versions available

  • Symmetrical beam shape (MRA 150, WRA 300)

  • Asymmetrical beam shape (WRA 600)

  • Consists of 30% recycled materials

The EDGE Line antennas are expected to be available from Q3.
