Dracula Technologies Launches E-zeroBatteryZone!

Revolutionary Sensor Solution Redefines Sustainable, Maintenance-Free IoT Deployments

Think WIOT partner Dracula Technologies, a pioneer in ambient energy harvesting, has unveiled the E-zeroBatteryZone®, a battery-free IoT sensor node platform powered entirely by indoor lighting. This groundbreaking solution marks a turning point in sustainable IoT, enabling scalable, autonomous, and maintenance-free sensor deployments.

At the heart of the E-zeroBatteryZone is a modular smart sensor system integrating multiple sensing functions — including temperature, humidity, and motion detection — within a compact, self-sustaining unit. Each node communicates via a local mesh network using NeoMesh, a low-power protocol developed by NeoCortec, ensuring highly efficient data transmission to the cloud for processing and analysis.

Energy from Light, Not Batteries

What sets E-zeroBatteryZone apart is its complete independence from conventional batteries. The system is powered by Dracula Technologies’ LAYER® organic photovoltaic (OPV) modules, which harvest ambient indoor light — even under low illumination conditions. This innovation removes the burden of battery replacement, drastically reducing environmental impact and operating costs.

Smart Storage for Continuous Operation

To ensure reliable performance, especially during periods of low light, the system incorporates the S-Power 2S supercapacitor from Ligna Energy. This durable energy storage component guarantees a continuous power supply, extending the system’s autonomy and lifespan.

Scalable, Low-Power Communication

The E-zeroBatteryZone uses the NeoMesh network to establish robust, energy-efficient wireless communication between nodes. This protocol minimizes power consumption while ensuring secure, reliable data transfer — essential for long-term, unattended IoT installations.

Designed for Real-World Deployment

Developed in partnership with Endrich Group, NeoCortec, and Ligna Energy, the E-zeroBatteryZone® is purpose-built for large-scale, real-world deployments. From smart buildings and asset tracking to environmental monitoring, this solution is ideal for applications where wiring is impractical and maintenance must be minimized.

“With the E-zeroBatteryZone, we’re empowering the next generation of IoT networks — clean, autonomous, and truly maintenance-free. By eliminating the battery, we’re eliminating a barrier to scale.”
