Forbes "30 Under 30" recently honored the young engineer from Switzerland in Berlin

When Chiara Koopmans, Managing Director of Truvami, sat in the audience in Berlin at the beginning of December, she did not expect to become part of the show herself. Then the stage lit up, the names were read out – and suddenly hers was among them. Koopmans is one of 30 award winners from Switzerland selected by Forbes for "30 Under 30."

Since 2011, Forbes (USA) has published annual "30 Under 30" lists in various categories. In 2025, just over 1,300 young talents in more than 80 countries worldwide were honored. Chiara Koopmans is one of them.

Chiara Koopmans, how did you find out that you had been included in this annual list?

Chiara Koopmans: It actually happened quite unexpectedly. One day I received an email saying I’d been shortlisted. Originally, there were over 3’000 names on the list, so being shortlisted already felt like a huge honor. Shortly after, I was invited to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Summit in Berlin. At that point, I knew I was among the top 150 candidates, and honestly, I was already thrilled to have made it that far.

The summit itself was fantastic. So many inspiring people, great energy, and excellent organization. Then, on the second evening, they announced the list on stage, and suddenly my name was called. It was a truly wonderful and memorable moment.

What was your first emotion when your name was read out?

Chiara Koopmans: It felt like a dream come true. For us as a young company, this visibility is extremely important, also in order to attract talent that will help us continue to grow next year. This recognition brings us a lot of attention, and perhaps it will also open up opportunities for future customers to work with us. We are really grateful for that.

Chiara Koopmans: I have always been driven by curiosity
Chiara Koopmans: I have always been driven by curiosity and by the desire to build and create something. Entrepreneurship means creating things on a large scale, and that is exactly what fascinated me. Today, I find it very meaningful to work with the team to develop a new product, tap into new markets, and advance an existing industry with innovative technology. Source: Chiara Koopmans

Your company is called Truvami. How did it come about, and what does Truvami stand for?

Chiara Koopmans: We have been building Truvami over the past three years and it’s been quite a journey. From the start, our vision was to build a tracking solution that works seamlessly both indoors and outdoors. In construction and logistics, assets move constantly between sites and vehicles, so we set out to ensure continuous visibility across both environments.

An important partner and investor is Swisscom Broadcast, whose support has been instrumental in our growth. Today, our team of fifteen people focuses mainly on firmware and software development, supported by sales, marketing, and strong external production partners.

The name Truvami comes from the Italian “trova mi,” meaning “find me.” It captures exactly what we stand for: helping people locate and monitor their assets reliably, wherever they are.

You have been working on a new smart label for 18 months. What is behind it?

Chiara Koopmans: We’re preparing to launch an industrialized, reusable tracking label in 2026 that is particularly well‑suited for scalable asset tracking in intralogistics. A key innovation lies in the label’s power management and energy efficiency, making it highly reliable and durable for industrial applications.

A beta version is already available and currently being tested by our partners. From a technological perspective, the solution integrates Wi‑Fi, GNSS, and LoRaWAN/BLE, all seamlessly connected to our own platform with dashboards and APIs.

Our aim is to deliver a true full‑stack solution: so customers don’t have to deal with hardware integration, connectivity, or platform complexity. Instead, they receive clear, actionable data that enables smarter, faster decision‑making.
