The Invisible Safety Line for Greater Freedom

SeniorGuard® from deister electronic protects people with dementia without indiscriminately restricting their freedom of movement. Instead of permanently locking doors, the system defines safety zones at exits, stairwells, or other critical areas. Residents can move freely within these safe zones. If a defined boundary is reached, SeniorGuard® automatically notifies the care staff. In this way, the solution supports the open-house concept and provides valuable response time.

Precise Location Detection with LF and UHF RFID

The resident wears a battery-powered amanTag® transponder on their wrist. An LCA 500 Locator is mounted at the monitored door. It generates an LF activation field at 125 kHz and transmits a unique location code within it.

When the amanTag® enters this field, it receives the location marker and is activated. It then transmits its identity via UHF to the integrated transceiver. Simply put: LF determines the “where,” and UHF transmits the “who.” This allows the system to identify which person is located in which security zone. The field can be adjusted to a range of approximately one to five meters and customized using loop antennas mounted on door frames, walls, or floor areas.

Flexible Zones, Clear Alerts

Multiple locators can form larger protection areas. Overlapping detection fields enable directional detection. An anti-collision mechanism ensures that multiple transponders are detected simultaneously and uniquely identified.

If an authorized caregiver is accompanying the at-risk person, the alarm can be selectively suppressed. This allows daily life to remain flexible without compromising the safety process.

Emergency Call and Barrier-Free Access

SeniorGuard® operates independently or can be integrated into management, call, and alarm systems. Depending on the transponder model, residents and caregivers can trigger a mobile assistance call at the push of a button. An LED confirms successful transmission.

When used with electronic door hardware, the amanTag® can also activate individual access rights. Doors open contactlessly, without a key or the need to actively present an ID card.
