More than HF with New Read/Write Devices

Advantages of High-Frequency RFID Combined with an Unparalleled Sensing Range

At a glance:

  • Greatest possible application flexibility thanks to extended sensing range of up to 30 cm

  • Multitag reading capability for optimum adaptation to the respective application

  • Reliable processes thanks to automatic adaptation to environmental disturbances

  • Seamless integration via IO-Link or IDENTControl evaluation unit

With the IQH3-FP-V1 and IQT3-FP-IO-V1, Pepperl+Fuchs introduces two new RFID read/write devices which form an attractive overall package for solving identification tasks. Based on the proven high-frequency RFID technology (13.56 MHz), standardized according to ISO 15693, the IQH3* and IQT3* read/write devices offer absolutely reliable and interference-free reading results for all near-field applications.

Extended Sensing Range

The devices have a unique sensing range of up to 30 cm (adjustable) combined with a particularly compact form factor that allows easy integration into the application environment. Additionally, the new devices are among the few HF read/write devices available on the market that also enable multitag reading of RFID transponders. This combination of features gives the user the greatest possible flexibility and freedom in adapting the HF read/write devices to the application to be solved.

Extreme Process Reliability

In addition to high performance and application flexibility, the new HF RFID read/write devices from Pepperl+Fuchs also excel in terms of process reliability: On the one hand, they comply with protection class IP67 and are designed for operation in the extended temperature range of -25 to +70 °C. On the other hand, they are able to automatically adapt to environmental disturbances if necessary.

Two Variants

For optimal integration into the system environment, the new RFID read/write devices are available in two variants. If the user's focus is primarily on implementing simple applications in which only a small amount of data needs to be read or written the read/write devices of type IQT3* are an ideal solution. They can be integrated quickly and cost-effectively via the integrated IO-Link interface in conjunction with an IO-Link master. Depending on the application profile, a choice can be made between an "Easy Mode" based on the plug-and-play principle or an "Expert Mode" with extended setting options.

IQH3* read/write devices have an interface for connection to the Pepperl+Fuchs IDENTControl evaluation units. This powerful and robust combination with increased EMC protection is particularly suitable for more complex applications in which high-performance data access must be ensured, several neighboring RFID read/write devices are to be operated in multiplex mode, longer cable paths must be bridged, or older fieldbus protocols are part of the application.
