The titanID Steel from herpa print is a rugged, self-adhesive RFID tag designed for metal surfaces, outdoor areas, and high-wear industrial environments. Depending on the application, it is available with HF/NFC, UHF RFID, or as a hybrid version supporting both frequencies.

RFID Identification for Metal and Outdoor Environments

Machines, equipment, and technical assets require identification that remains permanently readable even under demanding conditions. Moisture, UV radiation, contamination, and mechanical stress can compromise traditional labels and simple RFID tags over time.

herpa print developed the titanID Steel specifically for such operating conditions. The self-adhesive RFID tag can be applied directly to metallic surfaces and combines the visible identification of an object with a contactless, digitally readable identity.

HF/NFC, UHF, or Hybrid in a Single Tag

Depending on the process and customer requirements, the titanID Steel can be equipped with HF/NFC RFID, UHF RFID, or both frequency ranges.

HF and NFC enable targeted interaction over short reading distances. UHF RFID is suitable for longer ranges and automated identification processes. The hybrid version combines both technologies into a single identification solution.

This allows the tag to support different processes without requiring a separate tag for each reading scenario. For users and system integrators, this provides additional flexibility when planning identification, maintenance, and tracking solutions.

Tested for More Than a Year Under Offshore Conditions

The durability of the titanID Steel was tested over a period of more than a year under extreme conditions at an offshore facility. There, the RFID tag was exposed to the elements, UV radiation, contamination, and mechanical stress.

According to herpa print, the tests confirmed that the tag withstands these conditions. The titanID Steel is therefore suitable for applications where a tag must remain reliably attached to an object over long periods of time and maintain its functionality.

Potential applications include plant and machinery labeling, the identification of technical equipment, as well as outdoor applications, production environments, and other high-stress environments.

Custom Sizes, Shapes, and Print Designs

The titanID Steel can be custom-printed in multiple colors. Its size and shape can also be adapted to the specific application, the available mounting surface, and the requirements for visual identification.

Companies can combine logos, serial numbers, symbols, barcodes, or other information with the RFID function. This results in a marking that can be read contactlessly and is also visually and unambiguously identifiable.

Durable Identification for Industrial Assets

The titanID Steel combines robust material properties with customizable RFID capabilities. This combination is particularly relevant for long-lasting machines, systems, and equipment, as both physical labeling and digital identification must remain permanently available.
