Hana RFID Introduces Ultra-Compact MARQUEE UCODE 9 with ARC Spec Q Qualification
Just 29 × 15 mm: Hana RFID's new RAIN RFID inlay brings qualified performance to small retail items, accessories and compact packaging.
As item-level RFID adoption expands across retail and supply chains, RFID labels must fit an increasingly diverse range of products. Small accessories, compact packaging and limited label surfaces present a particular challenge: reducing antenna size without compromising identification performance.
With MARQUEE UCODE 9 (TX2915-Series), Hana RFID introduces an ultra-compact RAIN RFID inlay featuring a 29 × 15 mm antenna and the NXP UCODE 9 IC. MARQUEE is the smallest RFID inlay currently qualified for Auburn University RFID Lab ARC Spec Q, opening new possibilities for reliable item-level identification where conventional RFID labels are too large.
Smaller RFID Inlays, Greater Design Freedom
On compact retail items, product branding, barcodes, regulatory information and other printed elements compete for limited label space.
MARQUEE gives label converters greater flexibility in label dimensions and die-cut formats, while allowing brands to incorporate RFID without significantly changing existing product or packaging designs.
This makes the inlay particularly relevant for accessories and small retail products that require reliable identification for inventory management, product authentication and supply chain visibility.
Engineered for ARC Spec Q Performance
Miniaturizing a UHF RFID antenna is a demanding RF engineering task. Antenna dimensions directly influence impedance, efficiency, bandwidth and the ability to capture energy from an RFID reader.
Hana RFID optimized MARQUEE's antenna geometry around the electrical characteristics of the NXP UCODE 9 chip, treating both components as an integrated RF system.
ARC Spec Q qualification provides an independent performance benchmark, demonstrating that the compact design meets established RFID performance requirements.
For brands, converters and RFID solution providers, this qualification supports the evaluation of MARQUEE for applications requiring both compact dimensions and dependable RFID performance.
NXP UCODE 9 and Scalable Manufacturing
MARQUEE combines its optimized antenna architecture with the NXP UCODE 9 RAIN RFID IC. Designed for commercial production, the inlay undergoes 100% inspection and is available in two formats: Dry Inlay, for integration into customized RFID label constructions, and Paper Face, for paper-based RFID label production.
These options give converters flexibility to adapt the inlay to different label designs, printing requirements and manufacturing processes.
Key technical specifications:
