The ACS AIR60U meets these requirements as a compact, industrial-grade HF/NFC RFID desktop reader designed for eID, passport, and identity applications. Developed by Advanced Card Systems, it combines several key technologies in one device: contactless RFID and NFC reading, support for contact smartcards, and integrated OCR and MRZ capture for passports and ID documents.
The AIR60U is based on the globally established 13.56 MHz HF RFID technology, which underpins NFC, electronic IDs, and ePassports. Support for relevant international requirements such as ICAO Doc 9303 enables interoperability across a wide range of identity documents. For operators, this translates into consistent reading results and robust workflows, even in security-sensitive environments.
A key advantage is the combination of RFID chip reading and optical MRZ/OCR capture, enabling a redundant verification process. This reduces manual data entry, minimizes errors, and improves data quality. In high-throughput environments, check-in and registration processes can be significantly accelerated.
Thanks to its compact design, the AIR60U works both as a classic countertop desktop reader and as an embedded component for kiosks, e-gates, or automated access solutions. An optional QR code scanner supports hybrid identity concepts that combine physical and digital credentials.
