Ultra-thin UHF RFID antennas and reading solutions

FlexiRay (by Barco) has been dedicated to RFID UHF technology and hands-on RFID integration since 2005. Across many projects, standard RFID antennas on the market have repeatedly proven to be a limiting factor, especially in interior environments, because their mechanical design and radiation characteristics are often not optimized for confined spaces, narrow passages, or controlled read zones.

When the antenna becomes the bottleneck, even a well-designed RFID system can underperform.

To address this, FlexiRay designs and manufactures unique ultra-thin UHF RFID antennas with modular length. The ultra-slim form factor supports discreet installation in furniture, walls, gates, and equipment, while still enabling the creation of reliable, clearly defined reading zones.

Depending on project requirements, FlexiRay also offers more robust antenna formats for harsher conditions and installations where additional mechanical protection is needed.

Beyond antennas, FlexiRay produces the matching UHF RFID reading hardware required to build complete solutions, such as compact multi-port readers and ready-to-install RFID portal systems, so integrators can align antenna behavior and reader performance in one coherent deployment approach.

This component-to-solution focus helps simplify implementation, reduce risk during commissioning, and improve read reliability in complex environments.

FlexiRay products are commonly used in interior installations and space-constrained RFID projects, including entrances and passages, doorways and narrow corridors, conveyor belts and production flow points, and smart cabinets and smart shelving.
