RFID Shipment Verification & Installation Tracking from Brady connects RFID labeling, automated shipment checks and software-supported installation processes in one solution. It is designed for manufacturers and machine builders that ship complex equipment in multiple packages and need to ensure that every component reaches the customer and can be identified quickly during installation.
Individual component packages are equipped with programmable RFID labels during picking or packing. The labels create a unique digital identity for each package and can be printed and programmed directly as part of the warehouse process. Unlike barcode-based identification, RFID does not require direct line of sight and enables multiple packages to be detected from a distance.
Verify Shipments Before They Leave the Warehouse
RFID reader gates can automatically capture labeled packages as they move through the shipping process. The captured identities are compared with the corresponding cargo or shipment list in the company’s ERP system. This enables the system to identify incorrect components, indicate missing packages and confirm when a shipment is complete before it leaves the facility.
The solution can combine custom RFID labels, print-and-program printers, RFID readers or scanners and software according to the requirements of the application. Label format, adhesive and RFID inlay can be adapted to the package and operating environment.
From Delivery Check to Installation Guidance
RFID identification continues to add value after transportation. At the destination, personnel can use a mobile RFID scanner to check whether all required packages have arrived without visually inspecting each individual label. The same digital package identity can then be used by software to help determine where components are needed and in which sequence they should be installed. Proximity-based searching can additionally help personnel locate a particular package within a larger shipment.
This makes the solution particularly relevant for machines, production systems, technical equipment and other complex products that are delivered as multiple individual components and assembled or commissioned at the customer site.
Medical Equipment Example
A medical machine builder used the solution to verify complete shipments of component packages and support faster installation in hospitals. RFID labels were applied during picking, checked against ERP cargo lists before shipping, and later used with mobile readers and software to confirm delivery completeness and guide installers to the correct components and installation sequence.
