Detailed product information

High-Performance Circularly Polarised Ground Antenna

The Times-7 A5531C Circularly Polarized Antenna is a high-performance RAIN UHF RFID ground antenna for applications involving moving products, assets and people. It is designed for use cases where traditional side-mounted antennas are unsuitable or not optimized for the required read zone, including people tracking, race timing and industrial asset tracking.

With a thickness of only 10 mm, the A5531C is an ultra-low-profile antenna designed to lie flat on the ground or be concealed under a mat or other RF-transparent covering. The antenna measures 1200 × 195 × 10 mm and combines a slim form factor with robust mechanical design.

The A5531C supports RAIN RFID operation in the ETSI 864 to 868 MHz and FCC 902 to 928 MHz frequency ranges. It uses right-hand circular polarization, provides a typical far-field gain of 9.5 dBiC, and is specified with a typical VSWR of 2.0, 50-ohm nominal impedance and a maximum input power of 3 W.

For physical integration, the antenna features a fire-retardant ABS radome, IP53 environmental rating, SMA female side fly lead connector and anti-static protection. It is designed for operation from 0 °C to +50 °C and storage from -30 °C to +60 °C.

The A5531C is built to support moderate loads such as hand trolleys, carts with rubber wheels, runners, bicyclists and occasional vehicular traffic with pneumatic tires. When installed on a smooth, hard and flat surface, the maximum distributed load should not exceed 500 kg, and any point load should not exceed 100 psi.

As part of Times-7’s ground antenna range, the A5531C offers system integrators a discreet and durable option for creating floor-level RFID read zones in environments where visibility, movement detection and controlled infrastructure are critical.
