The iID® PENsolid PRO – UHF is a smart, ultra-mobile RFID read/write device designed for flexible and efficient data capture in industrial, logistics, and service environments. Combining compact pen-style ergonomics with powerful UHF RFID performance, it enables precise identification, fast scanning, and seamless integration into mobile workflows — including emerging use cases such as the Digital Product Passport (DPP).

Touch Meets Long-Range RFID

What sets the PENsolid PRO apart is its patented touch and capture technology combined with dual reading capabilities. The integrated twin-field antenna supports both close coupling and far-field communication.

This allows users to perform highly precise identification at very short distances, while also enabling longer-range scanning up to approximately 2 meters depending on the tag and environment.

The result is maximum flexibility: accurate, selective reading when needed, and fast bulk capture in dynamic environments.

Enabling Digital Product Passport Workflows

With the increasing importance of the Digital Product Passport, reliable data capture directly at the product becomes essential. The PENsolid PRO supports this by enabling fast and secure reading and writing of UHF transponders that carry product-specific information such as identifiers, lifecycle data, or digital links.

Its HID and SPP communication modes allow easy use as a keyboard scanner or within custom software environments.

The PENsolid PRO is designed for reliability in real-world applications. With an IP67 protection class, it is resistant to dust and water, making it suitable for industrial and outdoor use.

The device operates in temperatures from -20°C to +60°C and is powered by a rechargeable Li-Polymer battery with up to 10 hours of operation time, depending on usage. Intelligent power management features such as motion-controlled shutdown help extend battery life and improve efficiency.

Broad Compatibility and Application Range

Supporting ISO 18000-6C (EPC Class 1 Gen2) standards, the PENsolid PRO works with a wide range of UHF transponders, including mini tags, labels, and sensor-based RFID solutions. It is compatible with leading chip platforms such as NXP UCODE, Impinj Monza, and Alien Higgs.
