Detailed product information
Ultra-Compact HF/NFC Identification
The Identiv ID-Tiny-A798-I3 is an ultra-compact HF/NFC inlay designed to give very small products and components a secure digital identity. With a circular antenna measuring only 6 mm in diameter, the inlay is suitable for medical, pharmaceutical, beauty, personal care and consumer applications where conventional RFID tag dimensions are impractical.
Smartphone-Readable NFC Connectivity
Operating at 13.56 MHz, the ID-Tiny-A798-I3 is powered by the NXP ICODE 3 IC and complies with ISO/IEC 15693 and the NFC Forum Type 5 Tag specification. It can therefore be read using compatible industrial HF RFID infrastructure as well as commonly used NFC-enabled smartphones.
This combination enables direct access to digital product information, authentication services, instructions, usage data or customer engagement content without requiring a dedicated reader.
Optimized RF Performance on Small Surfaces
A capacitance of 97 pF supports reliable RF performance despite the tag’s miniature dimensions. NXP SELFAdjust technology automatically adapts the tag’s RF characteristics to the surrounding environment, helping optimize communication when materials or operating conditions change.
The inlay is also available with a temperature-stable antenna substrate for applications that require consistent performance under varying environmental conditions.
Memory and NFC Functions
The ID-Tiny-A798-I3 provides 2,400 bits of user memory and supports data transfer rates of up to 212 kbit/s. Integrated NFC functions include automatic UID mirroring and a tap counter.
These capabilities support applications such as digital product identification, interaction tracking, usage monitoring, product information retrieval and smartphone-based customer engagement.
Integrated Authentication and Privacy
For authentication-sensitive applications, the inlay offers a customizable Originality Signature with a length of 32 or 48 bytes based on elliptic curve cryptography. This enables systems to verify tag authenticity and helps protect products against unauthorized duplication.
Two password-protected untraceable modes provide additional privacy by restricting the information made available during communication.
Dry and Wet Inlay Formats
The ID-Tiny-A798-I3 is available as both a dry and wet inlay. The dry inlay has a tag diameter of 6 mm and a thickness of approximately 210 µm. The wet inlay measures 7 mm in diameter and approximately 310 µm in thickness.
With its miniature form factor, smartphone compatibility and integrated security functions, the Identiv ID-Tiny-A798-I3 brings secure NFC connectivity to physical objects that are too small for conventional RFID solutions.
