HID Sewio Zevon® is a next-generation Ultra-Wideband (UWB) real-time location system designed for demanding industrial environments where reliability, scalable infrastructure and long-term interoperability are critical. Zevon combines 8 GHz UWB, rugged industrial anchors, PoE daisy-chain connectivity and IEEE 802.15.4z support to deliver accurate real-time location data with significantly reduced cabling and infrastructure requirements.

A key differentiator is Zevon’s use of the 8 GHz UWB band. The system operates in UWB Channel 9 between 7.737 and 8.237 GHz, helping avoid interference from technologies increasingly active in lower spectrum ranges. HID positions this as a foundation for stable, future-ready RTLS performance in industrial environments.

Lower Infrastructure Cost with Daisy-Chain Connectivity

Zevon is designed to reduce installation complexity. Its PoE daisy-chain architecture allows multiple anchors to be connected in sequence rather than requiring a separate network connection for every unit. According to HID, this can reduce cabling and associated IT infrastructure costs by up to 80%.

The infrastructure combines two anchor types to optimize coverage while minimizing hardware:

Built for Industrial RTLS

Both anchor variants are designed for harsh industrial conditions. The devices feature IP65 protection and operate between −30 °C and +60 °C. Wall and ceiling mounting is supported, making Zevon suitable for production halls, warehouses, manufacturing environments and complex indoor layouts.

The platform uses IEEE 802.15.4z, supporting a more standardized and interoperable UWB architecture. This is intended to reduce vendor lock-in and provide a stronger basis for integrating compatible tags and future UWB devices.
