With IDSCOUT Encode, Think WIoT partner IDCRAFT is launching a locally operating, AI-powered encoding station for NFC and HF RFID. Command texts are automatically interpreted, but the AI never writes to the chip itself. Encoding, verification, and reporting are performed deterministically and entirely locally.

From Order Text to Encoded NFC Label

IDSCOUT Encode from IDCRAFT is now available. The station is designed for label converters, label printers, and media companies that want to offer NFC and HF RFID encoding as a service without having to have every job manually configured by RFID specialists.

The operator describes the encoding job in natural language. IDSCOUT recognizes the job pattern and transfers relevant details into a structured form. A traffic-light system indicates which information comes directly from the job, which is suggested by the model, and which is still missing. For details that have been adopted, the corresponding original quote is also displayed.

The AI Interprets, but Never Writes to the Chip

The central architectural principle is: The AI never writes anything.

The local language model interprets the order. The actual NDEF (NFC Data Exchange Format) or raw data set is generated exclusively by tested, deterministic software. Before mass production begins, the first label is encoded, then read again and compared with the intended information.

Finally, IDSCOUT Encode generates a report that maps each encoded label to the corresponding production batch and order data via its unique chip ID (UID).

More Than 6,600 Measurements Before Market Launch

Since July 2026, IDCRAFT has tested the language layer in ten pre-registered acceptance runs. More than 2,200 order fields were each tested three times, totaling over 6,600 individual measurements.

According to IDCRAFT, in the approved acceptance run, 298 out of 298 order fields were correctly captured, and 14 out of 14 intentionally embedded security traps were detected and stopped. No phantom values, build errors, or determinism deviations occurred. Across all ten acceptance runs, no erroneous AI value reached a label.

One previous run was not approved after a predefined determinism criterion was not met. After the correction, the subsequent acceptance run passed completely.

NXP NTAG213 and ICODE Supported at Launch

At launch, IDSCOUT Encode supports NXP NTAG213 as well as NXP ICODE SLI, SLIX, and SLIX2. Among other things, web links and text can be encoded in the standardized NFC data format NDEF, as well as vCards, Wi-Fi access data, smart posters, and phone, email, and geolocation information. Raw data and customer-specific formats are also supported.

Batches can be generated with identical data, sequential numbers, or custom content from CSV files. In a documented live test, four out of four chip contents were byte-for-byte identical to the specification and verified three times each.

Local AI Without Cloud or Telemetry

The language model and processing logic run entirely on the station. IDSCOUT Encode requires no cloud account, sends no telemetry data, and can be operated in an air-gapped environment. Customer data and audit trails remain with the operator.

More IDSCOUT Assistants for Auto-ID Planned

Encode is the first product available in the IDSCOUT family. Additional specialized AI assistants are planned for incoming goods inspection, reader integration and commissioning, transponder and hardware selection, as well as standards and certifications.
