In logistics, manufacturing, and retail, the demand for speed, transparency, and process reliability is on the rise. COT addresses this need with ProGlove MAI, a portable wearable companion that provides hands-free, AI-powered assistance directly on the job site.

Digital Support at the Workplace

Operational staff often work under time pressure, on the move, and without direct access to stationary terminals or screens. Paper lists, mobile devices, or fixed terminals can interrupt the workflow, create additional walking distances, and require manual input.

The key challenge is to bring digital support directly to where the work takes place: hands-free, context-aware, and in real time. This is exactly where ProGlove MAI comes in.

Wearable Companion with AI Voice Assistance

ProGlove was founded in 2014 and is a technology company based in Munich. The company develops industrial wearable solutions that combine ergonomic hardware with intelligent software. More than 2,000 customers worldwide use ProGlove solutions, including BMW, DHL, GAP Inc., and Lufthansa Technik Logistik Services.

MAI is worn on the back of the hand and combines a display, buttons, a scanner, connectivity, and AI-powered voice interaction in a single industrial-grade wearable. Employees can access work instructions, ask about the next steps in a process, report deviations, request support, or confirm work steps without interrupting the workflow.

Responses are displayed directly on the screen. Information can also be processed further via existing communication channels such as Microsoft Teams. This makes MAI the interface between the worker, the process, the data, and the system landscape.

Real-time data for warehousing and production

MAI captures task data in real time and can transmit it to Warehouse 360. This provides process insights that create transparency regarding workflows, execution times, deviations, and optimization potential.

The technology is particularly relevant for applications such as picking, sorting, packing, inventory, and internal material flows. Both hands remain free, while process information is immediately available right where the task is being performed.

From an integration perspective, MAI offers several operating options: as a standalone solution via Wi-Fi or via BLE with host devices for Android, iOS, and Gateway Plus. According to ProGlove, no lengthy IT projects or changes to the WMS are required. The solution is designed for rapid, cross-platform deployment.

Industrial-grade hardware

MAI is designed for use in demanding work environments. The wearable is IP65-rated for protection against dust and water, has a battery life of more than one shift, and can be operated via four buttons and a touch display, even while wearing gloves.

The integrated multi-range scanner captures data in milliseconds. Weighing 65 grams and measuring 21 millimeters in height, MAI combines data capture, ergonomic design, and mobile process guidance in a compact device.

COT as an Integration Partner

COT Computer OEM Trading GmbH has been supporting companies for over 48 years with printing, auto-ID, and Industry 4.0 solutions. As a solution provider, system integrator, distributor, service partner, and consulting partner, COT supports medium-sized and large companies in industrial and commercial market segments.

The range of services extends from system consulting and system specification through integration to maintenance and support. The portfolio includes barcode and scanning solutions, mobile workstations, industrial tablets and handhelds, RFID components, asset tracking, batch traceability, inventory management, and replenishment control.

Through custom software development and interface integration, COT supports integration with existing ERP systems such as SAP, Navision, or Microsoft Dynamics.

People-Centric Productivity

The combination of ProGlove MAI and COT’s integration expertise addresses a key trend in operational work environments: digitalization must reduce the workload for employees in their specific work processes while simultaneously delivering actionable real-time data.

For end users, this means fewer interruptions, shorter response times, and greater process reliability. For system integrators and solution providers, it creates an approach to integrating Auto-ID, wearables, real-time data, and existing enterprise systems into robust operational workflows.

With ProGlove MAI, COT is expanding its solution portfolio to include wearable technology that combines ergonomics, data capture, and AI-powered interaction. This makes digitalization effective where it makes the biggest difference: right on the industrial worksite.
