RFID Competence Centres

Murata’s RFID platform supports IoT adoption by providing the essential hardware, software, and communication interfaces needed to deploy RFID at scale. Backed by deep scientific expertise and strong manufacturing capabilities, Murata has developed some of the smallest and most robust RFID tags available, including microscopic tags (1.2 × 1.2 mm), embeddable formats, and rugged tags designed for on-metal applications.

Murata ID Solutions serves as Murata’s European competence centre for complete RFID solutions. Established in 2005 as a spin-off from the University of Parma and integrated into Murata in 2017, Murata ID Solutions combines academic roots with Murata’s industrial strength. This unique foundation enables the team to deliver turnkey RFID solutions, from early-stage concept and pilot projects through to fully operational systems, designed to meet real-world use cases and overcome deployment challenges across industries.
