Ultra-Compact UHF RFID Transponder for Precision Tagging
The Qmini U-TAG 2.5 is a highly miniaturized UHF RFID transponder designed for applications where space is extremely limited but reliable identification is essential. With dimensions of just approximately 2.5 × 2.5 mm and a thickness below half a millimeter, this transponder enables RFID integration in components that were previously considered too small for tagging.
Built for Small Parts and Harsh Environments
Despite its size, the Qmini U-TAG 2.5 delivers robust performance in demanding industrial environments. It can be mounted on both metal and non-metal surfaces and is suitable for integration directly into materials or components. This makes it ideal for applications such as tool tracking, automotive parts, aerospace components, and high-value small item identification.
The transponder operates in the UHF band (860–868 MHz / 915 MHz) using EPC Class 1 Gen2 / ISO 18000-6C standards, ensuring compatibility with global RFID infrastructures.
Reliable Identification at Close Range
Designed for close coupling communication, the Qmini U-TAG 2.5 offers a reading distance of up to 25 mm, depending on the reader system and environment. This controlled read range enables precise identification in dense or sensitive environments where selective reading is required.
The transponder is equipped with an NXP UCODE 8 or UCODE DNA chip and provides 128-bit EPC memory and 96-bit TID memory. Its EEPROM ensures high endurance with up to 100,000 write cycles and long-term data retention of at least 20 years.
Flexible Integration into Industrial Processes
The Qmini U-TAG 2.5 is designed as a transponder module that can be easily embedded, glued, or integrated into products during manufacturing. Its polyimide and epoxy construction supports durability under temperature ranges from -25°C to +85°C in operation, with higher tolerance during storage.
Combined with microsensys iID® reader systems and software, the transponder supports standard RFID functions such as inventory, read, write, and locking, making it suitable for automated identification workflows and lifecycle tracking.
Enabling Identification Where Others Cannot
The Qmini U-TAG 2.5 opens new possibilities for RFID applications in areas where conventional tags are too large. It is particularly valuable for industries that require discreet, durable, and precise identification solutions for small or embedded components.
