Detailed product information

Dual-Band UHF/HF RFID Transponder for Flexible Identification

The Label 1836-DUALTAGspecial is a versatile dual-band RFID transponder that combines UHF and HF technologies in a single, compact label. Designed for seamless integration across industrial and mobile environments, it enables both long-range identification and close-range interaction within one unified solution.

One Tag, Two Technologies

By integrating UHF (860–868 MHz) and HF (13.56 MHz, NFC compatible) in a single transponder, the Label 1836-DUALTAGspecial bridges the gap between logistics efficiency and user interaction. UHF enables fast, bulk reading in supply chains and asset tracking, while HF and NFC allow secure, close-range communication via handheld devices or smartphones.

A key advantage is the shared EEPROM memory, which can be accessed via both frequency ranges. This ensures consistent data across systems and simplifies data management throughout the product lifecycle.

Designed for Industrial and On-Metal Applications

The transponder is specifically engineered for demanding environments. Its multi-layer ferrite design enables reliable performance on both metal and non-metal surfaces, making it suitable for industrial assets, equipment, and infrastructure.

With dimensions of approximately 20 × 38 mm and a robust, hermetically encapsulated structure, the label offers durability in harsh conditions. It operates in temperatures ranging from -25°C to +85°C and meets IP64 requirements for protection against environmental influences.

Flexible Use Across Applications

The Label 1836-DUALTAGspecial is particularly well suited for applications such as facility management, asset tracking, and mobile maintenance. Its dual-frequency capability supports a wide range of use cases, from automated inventory processes to service and inspection workflows.

The label can be mounted easily using adhesive or glue and supports optional custom printing, including barcodes, QR codes, or visual identifiers. This allows seamless integration into existing labeling and identification systems.

Performance and Compatibility

The transponder complies with EPC Class 1 Gen2 and ISO 18000-6C standards for UHF, as well as ISO 15693 and NFC Forum Type 5 for HF. It supports communication distances of up to several hundred millimeters in UHF mode and up to 30 mm in HF mode, depending on the reader and environment.

With high memory endurance of at least 100,000 write cycles and long-term data retention of up to 50 years, the Label 1836-DUALTAGspecial is built for long-term industrial use.

Bridging Systems, Simplifying Processes

The Label 1836-DUALTAGspecial enables companies to unify identification processes across different systems and touchpoints. By combining UHF efficiency with HF and NFC accessibility, it creates a flexible foundation for modern IoT, maintenance, and lifecycle management applications.
