UHF RFID Long-Range Reader Module for Machine and System Integration
The ID LRMU4000 from FEIG ELECTRONIC is a UHF RFID long-range reader module developed for integration directly into machines, industrial equipment and automated systems. With an adjustable RF output power of up to 2 watts, connections for up to four antennas and a reading range of more than 10 meters, the module supports long-range identification applications in mechanical and plant engineering.
The reader supports EPC Class 1 Gen2 and ISO 18000-63 transponders and provides functions for secure UHF RFID applications, including support for ISO/IEC 29167 and secure storage of application keys in a Secure Element. Two inputs, two optocoupler outputs and two relay outputs enable the reader to interact directly with external components and respond to defined RFID events.
A key feature is the integrated Linux-based edge computing platform. Customer-specific applications can run directly on the reader, allowing RFID data to be processed locally before information is transferred to higher-level systems. The ID LRMU4000 supports RS485, Ethernet and USB, as well as LLRP, and can operate in Host, Buffered Read and Notification modes.
Designed as an electronic module without its own housing, the ID LRMU4000 can be installed inside existing control cabinets or machine housings. An aluminum mounting plate supports mechanical installation and heat dissipation, while the module can be powered via 12–24 V DC or PoE+. Versions are available for the European 865–868 MHz band and the 902–928 MHz FCC band.
