Contactless Payment Terminal Module for Flexible Integration

The cVEND plug II from FEIG ELECTRONIC is a compact terminal module for contactless payment and ticketing applications. Designed for integration into validators, on-board computers, vending systems and other devices, the module combines secure payment processing with support for open-loop payment cards, mobile wallets and closed-loop contactless cards. It is the PCI PTS 6.x successor to the first-generation cVEND plug, which has been deployed in thousands of projects worldwide.

The Linux-based cVEND.OS Multi-Application architecture supports payment cards and mobile wallets alongside closed-loop technologies including MIFARE, CIPURSE, ITSO, VDV-KA and Calypso. The contactless interface supports ISO/IEC 14443-A/-B and ISO/IEC 15693 as well as NFC devices in card-emulation mode and Sony FeliCa.

With dimensions of only 79 × 70 × 31.1 mm, or 79 × 70 × 25 mm without Ethernet, cVEND plug II can be installed in or behind non-conductive front panels. Ethernet, USB, RS232, GPIO, I²C and SPI interfaces provide flexibility for system integration. A special low-power standby mode consuming less than 1 mA also makes the module suitable for battery- or solar-powered applications.

For payment integration, FEIG offers several variants. cVEND plug II - alpha allows the payment service provider to be selected shortly before commissioning, with the final payment application downloaded remotely via the PayServ.SolutionSuite. cVEND plug II.DK supports a range of German payment service providers, while cVEND plug II - PayServ.GWS combines the terminal with FEIG’s acquirer-independent PayServ.GatewaySolution for international applications.

Key features include PCI PTS 6.x SRED, EMVCo Contactless Level 1, IP65 protection when installed in an appropriate housing, IK10 impact resistance and an operating temperature range from -30 °C to +70 °C.

Applications: public transport, parking, vending, automated return systems and other self-service applications requiring secure contactless payment, mobile-wallet acceptance or integration of closed-loop cards.
