UHF RFID Designed for Challenging Liquid Environments

The Checkpoint Systems Sirocco RFID Inlay brings item-level UHF RFID identification to applications where liquids and glass can make conventional RFID deployment difficult.

Its antenna design is optimized for performance on fluid-filled glass containers, making Sirocco particularly relevant for beverage products and other liquid-centric applications. The inlay performs in both sparse and dense tag populations and can be embedded into labels, hangtags and integrated packaging.

This makes Sirocco suitable for supply chain, logistics and retail processes where individual products need to remain identifiable from distribution through store operations.

Impinj Monza M750 and Global UHF Operation

Sirocco uses the Impinj Monza M750 IC and operates across 860 to 960 MHz.

The inlay complies with ISO/IEC 18000-63:2015 and EPCglobal Gen2v2 and also supports Impinj Gen2X. Memory includes a 96-bit EPC, 32-bit user memory and a 96-bit unique TID/UID.

With dimensions of just 18 × 67 mm, the antenna is compact enough for integration into different packaging concepts while maintaining the read performance required for logistics and inventory applications.

Read Range for Supply Chain and Retail

Checkpoint specifies a maximum read range of 15.10 meters under ETSI conditions and 15.00 meters under FCC conditions. The technical documentation also evaluates performance under free-space, light-loading and heavy-loading conditions.

This makes Sirocco suitable for use with fixed readers, RFID gates, handheld readers and overhead reading infrastructures, depending on the application architecture.

From Inventory Visibility to Point of Sale

Sirocco is designed for applications including inventory visibility, omnichannel processes and store operations such as cycle counting, item locating and point of sale.

For beverage manufacturers, retailers and solution integrators, the inlay enables RFID-based identification to be extended to product categories where liquids and glass have traditionally limited UHF RFID performance.

Combined with an appropriate RFID infrastructure, Sirocco can support more accurate stock visibility, automated inventory processes and item-level traceability from the supply chain into the store.
