RFID Read/Write Heads for Explosion-Hazardous Areas
Use Cases
- Factory automation
- Process Automation
Technologies
In process plants of the chemical, pharmaceutical or food industry, fluids that can be pumped are fed to the corresponding parts of the plant via so-called hose stations. To ensure the quality and safety of the processes, errors must be avoided. It is not uncommon for the media used to be hazardous substances. Thanks to the automatic identification of hose coupling points at the hose stations via RFID, the correct connection can be checked reliably and automatically without additional time expenditure. If an incorrect hose connection is detected, the integration into the automation environment prevents the switching on of pumps or the start-up of a process, which would otherwise have led to high consequential costs.
- The compact read/write heads are suitable for use in Zone 1 and Zone 21 hazardous areas.
- The 30GM-Ex design is ideally suited for applications in the process industry, such as hose stations or sampling points.
- Available for LF (125 kHz) and HF RFID (13.56MHz)
The Pepperl+Fuchs RFID Read/Write Head Family for explosion-hazardous areas include:
- IPH-30GM-Ex (LF RFID)
- IQH1-30GM-Ex (HF RFID)
- Read/write head with thread M30 x 1.5
- Robust and compact stainless steel housing
- ATEX-approval for zone 1 and zone 21
- Wide operating temperature range 20°C … +70°C
- Degree of protection IP68
- Encapsulation Ex m
- For connection to IDENTControl control interface
