Smart License Plate for Motorcycles

The IDeSTIX Headlamp Tag from TÖNNJES is an electronic identifier for motorized two-wheelers. It was developed specifically for motorcycles, scooters, and other vehicles that do not have a windshield and, in many countries, carry only a rear license plate. The solution makes the vehicle reliably identifiable from the front as well.

The slim RFID sticker is attached directly to the headlight. There, it supplements the traditional license plate with a digital identification option. A unique identification number is stored in the integrated RAIN RFID chip, which can be read contactlessly. This allows the motorcycle to be detected both in stationary and moving traffic, even at high speeds.

Additionally, the IDeSTIX Headlamp Tag can be personalized with vehicle-specific information. An applied QR code enables easy verification via smartphone. In combination with a digital signature, the stored data can be protected against tampering and verified on-site.
