SAG Offers a Glow-in-the-Dark Tag For Warehouses
At a glance:
- High-brightness LEDs
- Glow in the dark and under lighting
- Read and switch-on distance of 8 meters
- For shelves and box searches
RFID tags allow for the identification of goods without line of sight which is one of its great advantages. But what if picking a specific tagged box in a dense tag environment is of crucial importance? Usually, its tag can be read if one is within reading distance, but in warehouses and on tall shelves it might be a lot more difficult to locate the item it belongs to. In order to help identify specific items, SAG has developed an LED Tag which lights up the searched-for items.
Combining UHF RFID and LED
LED Tag is a UHF tag with embedded LEDs. It leverages the advantages of RFID technology to swiftly identify tagged items and also allows for the additional functions of quick search and single product positioning. When the tagged item needs to be found, the person looking for it selects the item number on the reader. In setting up the system, user marry items with the tag’s EPC numbers. Therefore, the LED lights on the RFID tag of the item in question start flashing. This allows users to identify the managed items quickly and intuitively.
Battery-Powered, Translucent and Very Bright
The LEDs which SAG uses for this innovative UHF tag are of high brightness. Therefore, the LED emission is visually perceptible in a dark place such as a warehouse, but also in daylight and even under lighting. Made of translucent nylon, the tag light can be seen even from the side. The LED can be turned on from a distance of up to 8 meters. It is powered by a long-lasting common button battery with a function to prevent the tag from being left on. A total of 100 days on which the LEDs are switched on 1440 times per day can be worked with one battery.
Multiple Fixation Methods for Quick Installation
To apply LED Tag to an item is easy. There are multiple ways of fixation. Thanks to the two holes in the tag structure, users can use screws, cable ties or double-sided tape to fasten this specialty tag to the managed items. This enables quick installation and reduces the workload.
Ideal Application Scenarios
LED Tag is highly durable, can be used repeatedly and will survive a drop on concrete from a height of 1.2 meters. It ideally suits shelf and box searches, digital picking systems, basket cart searches and checked baggage searches. Its target application areas are inventory management, asset tracking and logistics.
